[Image: When Bad Christians Happen to Good People: by Dave Burchett]When Bad Christians Happen to Good People by Dave Burcetts offers help for those who have been harmed by Christians–and those who have inflicted the wounds. Throughout history, Christians have done considerable damage to others–both independently and in the name of Christ. Each time this occurs, one of God’s precious creations is wounded and the church’s witness to the world is grievously weakened.

For years, unbelievers and Christians have rejected the church because of damaging encounters with a Christian, a Christian leader, or a group of Christians. No matter how much we wish to reverse the damage, however, we cannot reach the unchurched with the life-changing message of the gospel–nor can we protect those still within the body–unless we insist upon dramatic changes within our church communities.

Targeting every person who has ever been hurt by a Christian–as well as those believers responsible for inflicting such damaging wounds–author Dave Burchett calls for a new way of relating that will bring healing to the church and transform our witness to the world.

Dave Burchett is an Emmy Award-winning television sports director for Fox Sports, ESPN, and NBC, with a background in radio. He and his wife, Joni, are former staff members of Campus Crusade’s Athletes in Action. They live in Texas and are the parents of three sons. You can visit his blog “Confessions of a Bad Christian.”

Ang_CNN Angela blows up eggs at midnight, sticks forks into sockets and enacts her NASCAR fantasies on the beltway endangering her life and the life of others. Which is why we formed the Angela Advisory Board in an effort to protect herself and more importantly those around her. Well apparently CNN had a slow news day today because CNN’s American Morning interviewed Angela about the Advisory Board. You can see the video below.

You can still join the Angela Advisory Board, simply e-mail me with your name, contact info and desired position (be creative). Check out Angela’s Advisory Board website to see what positions are already filled and to get ideas for more positions.

Every family has relational habits–both positive and negative–passed down from generation to generation. Family counselor Beverly Hubble Tauke, citing real-life stories and suggesting specific “transforming practices,” shows how to put an end to a cycle of negativity and change family patterns so that you and your family can enjoy healthy relationships for generations to come. Full of surprising wit and inspiring insight, Sins of the Family will help families find the joy God intended for them.

A licensed clinical social worker, Beverly Hubble Tauke serves as a family counselor based at Cornerstone Family Counseling in Fairfax, VA, where she collaborates with a range of local churches in the Washington, D.C., area. For years she has also facilitated workshops for homeless men and women through Gospel Rescue Ministries–just blocks from the nations Capitol.

Prior to work in family counseling, Beverly Tauke managed media operations in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, taught journalism and communications at a Christian institute in East Africa, and worked as a writer in Chicago. She holds a master of social work degree from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and a master of arts degree in communications from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL.

Beverly Tauke resides in northern Virginia with her husband, Tom; son, Joseph; daughter, Elizabeth; and exuberant puppy, Domino.
