For King & Country
Luke joined Jerry & Blanca to talk about how being a part of one of Christian music’s fastest up-and-coming bands, and a musical family has meant to them. And with two boys, traveling, and some very personal life experiences over the last two years, there’s been plenty of material for inspiration for many of the songs on their upcoming album, which comes out September 16th.

Jerry & Blanca’s Ice Bucket Challenge
They thought they might be able to get out of doing it, but it’s come around to WGTS 91.9′s morning team. Overnight host & Digital Content Coordinator, Rob Conway, had challenged Jerry Woods last week. So today, he convinced Blanca Vega to join him in getting doused in support of some good causes. See what happened here:
I Used To Be So Organized!
Something happens when you become a parent. Things that once took you two seconds now take 20 minutes! And a new school year routine also adds to the stress this time of year.
Glynnis Whitwer can sympathize–she’s a mom of 5 kids, plus her other full-time job is the Executive Director of Communications at Proverbs 31 Ministries. But she also has learned how to not let balancing all of this overwhelm her.
Becky Alignay from Middays got to sit down with her and talk about her new book “I Used to Be So Organized: Help for Restoring Order and Peace.”

Spotlight on Colton Dixon
Just two years ago, Colton Dixon couldn’t have imagined where God would lead him. After following his sister, Schyler, to an audition of American Idol® on the show’s eleventh season, the judge’s implored him to audition as well. Both he and his sister received the golden tickets to the next round. Schyler’s run would end there as Colton moved on to the live performances, which broke his heart. But he would dedicate his performances to his sister, and wound up being the top male vote-getter, managing to make it into the top 10 and a favorite to win. He was often very outspoken about his faith on the show, and on his Twitter feeds during the show, although it made some of the producers of the show uncomfortable. His run would end abruptly in an elimination that shocked the judges.
But his exposure on the show granted him the opportunity to continue his dream, and was soon picked up to record an album, and tour with Third Day, tobyMac, and others across the country. His first album “The Messenger” was released shortly after in January of 2013, and his brand new album “Anchors” comes out August 19th featuring his latest hit “More Of You.” He says the song is about “God’s desire to fill us up with the full potential of His love and power, but we have to make room for Him. We have to empty our cup daily.”
Colton Dixon will be at DC Fest August 16th at the Patriot Center. Learn about the concert here.
