What would you do if you were suddenly given the responsibility to care for your ailing loved one in addition to already juggling multiples roles as a spouse, parent and working professional?
That's exactly what Dr. Gybrilla Ballard-Blakes was called to do as revealed in her new book, Give Your Parents a Standing Ovation: For Caregivers of Elderly Parents. TP Rewards, LLC, which publishes culturally sensitive books that educate and inspire people of all ages, will release this book on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the "We Care Day" at the Bishop Alfred Owens, Jr. Family Life Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Blakes will serve as an expert panelist and be on-site to autograph the book. She will also answer questions regarding the noble journey of caregiving.

What: The book launch will be part of Greater Mt. Calvary and AARP's special day to celebrate, inform, support and provide resources to caregivers (those whose major responsibility is to care for ailing loved ones.)

In addition to releasing the book, Dr. Blakes, through the non-profit, TP Rewards Publishing, Inc., will hold community workshops throughout the DC Metro area this holiday season where she will share her experiences and provide insight caregiving. Topics include:
- How to handle role reversal;
- How to navigate conflicts with other family members;
- Resources available on handling legal and financial issues; and,
- A special discussion on dealing with Alzheimer's disease and Dementia.
