Due Season: A Faith-Filled Roadmap Toward Eliminating Racial Disparities in Maternal Health at Shiloh Baptist Church
Wednesday, 14 November, 2012
|Shiloh Baptist Church and the Henry C. Gregory III Family Life Center Foundation (FLCF) in partnership with the National Council of Churches, USA (NCC), is sponsoring community group listening sessions for members of the clergy, Christian educators, community organizers, teachers and social workers in efforts to bring light the racial disparities in maternal health within the USA. The forums will explore how racism influences the fact that African American women bear babies too small (pre-term and low birth weight) at twice the rate of white women.
The resources developed as a result of this program will help educate the faith community and facilitate the development of an action plan communities can take to bring about requisite change. For the development phase of this project, the community group listening sessions are scheduled to be held in three cities New York, Washington DC, and Chicago. Please join us and be part of this important discussion!
