LUNCH AND LEARN ABOUT "LIVING WITH ALZHEIMER'S"during a FREE seminar series for caregivers of those in the middle stage of the disease. Sessions will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 10 and 17, at Brooke Grove Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 18131 Slade School Road on the Sandy Spring campus of Brooke Grove Retirement Village. Lunch will be provided. Complimentary respite care, including LIFE enrichment programming and lunch, will also be available at The Meadows and The Woods assisted living for participants needing care for their loved one during the seminars. Series presenter Mikki Firor, programs and services manager for the Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area, will discuss a variety of challenges faced by caregivers of those with Alzheimer's. They include understanding the disease, communication skills, coping with symptoms, intimacy, safety issues, approaches to treatment, care planning, and financial and legal matters among many others.
