Richard E. Stearns is President of World Vision U.S., one of the largest relief and development organizations in the world. Established in 1950, World Vision has more than 45,000 staff serving children and families affected by poverty and injustice in nearly 100 countries. Prior to joining World Vision in 1998, Rich had a successful 25-year corporate career which included serving as President and CEO of Lenox, the gift and tableware company, and President and CEO of Parker Brothers Games. When Rich joined World Vision, he guided the organization to unprecedented growth and called on the Church in America to respond to the global AIDS pandemic. Rich chronicles his journey from corporate CEO to advocate for the poor in The Hole in Our Gospel-named 2010 Christian Book of the Year by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. Unfinished, Rich's second book, was released in April 2013. Rich served in the inaugural year on President Obama's Advisory Council on Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and currently serves as a trustee for Seattle Pacific University.
