Cool places to work
That’s one of the things I love about working at WGTS 91.9. We’ve grown to be one big family here. Perhaps it’s b/c it’s a Christian environment, although I’ve worked in Christian environments that haven’t had that same safe, supportive feel. Maybe it goes beyond that, and it takes effort on someone’s part to make it go beyond just a productive place, but also a fun place to be. Makes me think of one company that at least seems pretty fun to work at Discovery Channel in the new downtown Silver Spring.
Incidentally, if you’re looking for something to watch on TV tonight w/ the family, it might be fun to check out shark week on the Discovery channel. I remembered it was shark week b/c when I went downtown Silver Spring last week, there was a HUGE, gigantic shark swimming through the top of the Discovery Building. But we’ve had fun at our house every night this week looking forward to whatever shark show is on. Some are kind of gross, but most have been neat so far.
My husband had a chance to tour the building last week, and he said there was stuff everywhere inside to hype up Shark Week. I was so impressed that the company went through all that trouble to hype up things for their employees as well as the general public. I think that’s pretty cool and pretty valuable for a company to go through all that trouble for its employees. Kind of makes you feel special when your company actually takes an interest in its workers helping them to get excited about something and be a part of community. Hopefully you’ll have a good week at work, and if you have the chance to affect change in your working environment maybe you can help make it a more pleasant place to be.
