You play an important role when it comes to preventing food poisoning at your local restaurants. A new report gives Virginia and D.C. “D” grades for the way they detect, investigate and report outbreaks of food borne illnesses. Maryland was one of only 7 states that earned an “A” grade. If you get really sick and you think it was something you ate, get treated and then call your local health department. You alerting your local officials to the problem is what starts the investigation and could help to identify an outbreak and prevent other people from getting sick.
