Operation Christmas Child
You can make a difference and share the love of Jesus with a child in another country this Christmas through Operation Christmas Child. We’ll be collecting shoeboxes filled with goodies, and we need your help!
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse who has been delivering shoebox gifts packed by caring people like you to hurting children around the world for 20 years.
Join us the week of November 17th-24th as we drop off our shoebox gifts at locations all around the DMV
Many local churches will be drop-off locations
What do I put in the shoebox?
- Use an empty shoebox (avg. size) or a small plastic container.
- Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or girl, and child’s age (2-4, 5-9, or 10-14).
- Start with larger toy, like a stuffed animal, car, or doll. Add toys, school supplies and hygiene items. (No chocolate, perishable foods, liquids, medicine, or war-related items)
- Include $7 donation per box to cover shipping and other costs related to delivering your gift box.
If you are in need of extra boxes, please come by WGTS 91.9′s studios and we’d be happy to provide some for you. [Get location]
